Meet Sunčica
She considers herself an ambitious, persistent, communicative and cheerful person.
First volunteer experience she gained in the Association of citizens for helping people with disabilities Jednakost, where she has been volunteering since the founding of the organization in 2007.
Later, she continued her engagement in high school, became a member of the umbrella representative organization of young people in the Milići municipality, Omladinski savjet Milići. She initially volunteered there, then became a board member, and later served as a PR. All these years, she actively participates in projects and events aimed at improving the overall position of young people and attends numerous educational and social workshops and seminars. Also, she becomes a part of numerous organizations. These seminars are her inspiration when it comes to transferring her knowledge to young people across BiH.
Thanks to her longtime activism, in 2017 she was chosen as one of the five most active high school students in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and also the part of a delegation on International Youth Camp Lazurny, in Russia. She is currently engaged as a peer educator on a couple of projects and she holds educational workshops in secondary schools, across B&H.
After completing elementary and high school, she enrolled at the Faculty of Political Science in Sarajevo, Department of International Relations and Diplomacy. Guided by her previous involvement in the field of peacebuilding, human rights, education of young people and vulnerable groups, she believes that studying at this college allows her to work in the various fields in which she is interested.
She likes to travel and meet people. In her free time, she also loves reading books, watching films.
Sunčica is thankful to the Bosana Foundation for choosing her as a new scholarship recipient. She points out that this is an additional motivation for her to improve and invest in her personal and professional development, of which every kind of support provided by the Foundation will be of great importance. Her motto is "Be yourself, everyone else is already taken".
